So I went to my pick up bank yesterday to pick up some coin boxes. Because I have been having bad luck with halves recently (skunked in the last 7 or 8) I told them to order a box a halves and a box of quarters (I know it won't help my skunk streak). I go in and hand over my $1000 and ask like always if they have any Ikes. The teller says no but I have some halves in my drawer. I ask if they are from a box or a customer. She said a customer brought them in. Went home got as much money as I could find and zoomed back. They ended up having $320 total - $200 were "rewrapped" white bank rolls and $120 were brown customer wrapped rolls. Took them home and opened them before going to work:

    $200 "rewrapped" - 1 1968

$120 customer wrapped - whats that saying about a picture.....

thats 225 40% - my best score ever...

still have the 2 boxes but I'll hold off and enjoy this moment. Already called the bank back and she was nice enough to say she will save anymore rolls from this customer.

Nice... "customer" wrapped is the best way to find 90% and 40% coins; I once got (12) 90% and (16) 40% from $50 of customer wrapped. Good luck in your pursuit!

for me it is cwr...but they are hard to find...really how many people roll halves anymore...but when you find them buy them. My first ever roll was a cwr and it was 4 90% and 16 40%...

That's awesome, the best score I've gotten was a 1942 war nickel in a roll of nickels. As far as the bank goes, just old currency. Congrats!

Awesome find, I got three halves from the tray at 7/11 today... all clad, but whatever, the hunt continues. Congratulations! :thumb:

I find unsearched CWR halves in quantity about once a year in my several different financial institutions. The last time I had a big score was 39 40% back in March, since then I have only found three of them and they were all over the counter purchases.

I hope to find some this week... planning on going to my pick up bank Monday. I haven't seriously roll hunted before... just picked up a few rolls here and there. You've inspired me.:thumb:
