I keep finding these 1957-D Lincoln Wheats that have the 9 & 5 in the dates partially filled. Since I am discovering their frequent occurrence , I am wondering what they are called and what they may have been caused by. I was unable to find anything on coppercoin that addressed these.
Very common on these dates. Also very common to see die chips and breaks on LIBERTY. Hard to tell by the picture, but does the mint mark on that second one have a split upper serif?
