Filed, cleaned etc., but what the heck!?

Got this 1842 Dollar with many problems for melt.
But these coins are very pricey and it‘s my first one, so what……

Every old coin like this has a value and a price. As long as you did not overpay for it, it is a perfectly reasonable and enjoyable addition to your collection. Genuine examples of the Seated Dollars are scarce, and this is far superior to the Chinese product, which has appeared frequently over the past couple of decades.

 

Nice piece,I sure wouldn't mind as long as it's silver.

 

I like. Honestly I’d have some fun with it and wear it on occasion. I find coins so altered fun especially when it’s not an ultra rarity. I have a drawer of coins in my desk like this. Holed altered love tokens etc. and find they have appeal of all their own. Now if it was an 1852 I’d want to cry

It looks nice to me. Shame about cleaning and filing but these are tough to find at reasonable prices.

Wow if you got that for melt though. Id pay over melt all day. Lucky we wasn't bidding against each other on this one lol..

 

Get a silver chain and wear it proudly.
