Hi, I'm looking for a reference about Fiji coins. The Krause is the closest thing I have, but I notice more Fiji coins sell for a lot more than the Krause price. Is there a more specialised book I can find. I am specifically interested in the mintage figures for Fiji proofs.
All that I know is, don't rely on Krause for pricing, just use it as a guide. Most coins sell for a little to a lot more than what is listed in the book.
Krause does especially poorly on moderns and often very dramatically undervalues them. There many moderns that bring many many multiples of the Krause price. Fiji is one of the countries affected. The market on the decimals is pretty thin but many if not most are fairly scarce so command much higher prices than Krause. Some of the early '90's coins are virtually unavailable in decent condition and hard to find beat up.
