Awesome. Some of the best parts of my collection come from my tour in Sand Land and the trip back home. Found two coins in the sand on a PT test run. Bought a bunch of old dinars from the Iraqis. Got some change in Ireland and Canada. Nothing beats coins with a story attached to them.
One of the parts I miss about the service is getting to exchange money while visiting other countries. It was always fun because of the neat coins and notes you would get in return.
I’ve gotten over a hundred coins and notes form my brother’s travels. He’s been out of the navy for a while now but he’s still finding things. Here’s the oz $5 signature
All of the boys in my family have been in the Navy. The good part about this is not only did I get to pickup alot of neat coins/banknotes... so did they. They've been kind enough to allow me to trade or purchase some of what they've collected.
