FELIX SCHLAG'S JEFFERSONS! By: jb4gpo It was "The Official Red Book", where I stumbled across a (Bio) of one of Americas Greatest Designers,(Felix Oscar Schlag). What brought my attention in collecting Jefferson nickels was Felix's Life History with his relentess Determination of creating the winning design. This Jefferson Series is so diverse, with so many ways to collect/I wanted to get a "Little of Everything". Quality Mintstate/Variety/Proofs/ProofLikes/FullSteps/Silver Wartime Era/ Rpm's Errors/ also dissecting of this Series to find/obtain the most difficult dates to at least(half-steps showing)that are next to impossible to find/purchase in a five full-step. Whew! Now, that I have all of these in a safe deposit/Bank, I wanted to share all this with fellow coin collectors... Upon my Retirement in 2008, Contemplating/ Wondering, if it was to-late for me trying to grab a spot in the "Top 10", in the 1938 to Date Category. This Jefferson Set is something Special to me! It's a little different than what most collectors have in the Registry. On some of the dates, my coins won't have the(Registry Points) or hardly any Numis-Value at all. If you take a look at my collection, you'll understand why I chose this path and my reasoning behind it. (Ngc Registry/nickels/1938 to date catagory/jb4gpo/JGB's Jefferson collection.) I feel very fortunate getting this far, which currently is in the #8 Ranking. Don't let the no-prices over half of my coins fool you, most of my collection' are low-mintage and very hard to find! Just being able to reach this goal even briefly, I felt that I achieved something that's been most Enjoyable and Rewarding in Assembling a High-Quality set of Various Different Types of Jeffersons. So Yes! Anybody, who wants a Real-Challenge? This is it! -----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a Jefferson nut! I would love to see the individual coins in your series. I really like the presentation boxes you havea there. Congrats on your achievement.

I was checking them out on the registry. You have some beautiful nickels. I especially like the the 55 d/s! You sure do have a lot 67 FS on those early years too. Just awesome. I also didn;t realize they would grade a nickel PL. I learn something everyday! I started to catalogue my Jeffs. I only own a few graded ones. Here is my set (as far as I got with pictures) if you care to see: http://www.thecoinnection.com/member/MemberCoinShelf.html?memberAlbum=111#
Oh? Thats interesting. Flash runs in Safari doesn't it? Thank you for letting me know. I will have to investigate that.
It does, but it looks like the version that is required is not supported by 10.4. I was attempting to find out the requirements, but the link wouldn't take me anywhere. I do have Flash installed, but I guess not the right version. After checking the Adobe site, the only version they have for 10.4 runs only on the intel Macs. Unfortunately I can't get my wife to budge from this OS as it is the only one that will run her dinosaur MS Works application from 1994. She refuses to even try MS Office. School teachers........!!
After skimming thru your collection, I noticed a quite a few full step nickels as well. great looking jeffersons,,,,keep a Constant eye open for the Quality with Eye Appeal/ plus watch out on the steppers, sometimes' they don't go all the way across. goodluck! Jim/jb4gpo
