So I've been hunting and I come up empty handed and without an answer... Are there known examples of Felix Schlag's autograph? I want one as the centerpiece for my BU Nickel collection that I'm going to have mounted on my wall to display and was thinking it would be cool to have the designers autograph... I would even settle for print or nice photocopy and that would be fine with me, but I can't find info anywhere... Any thoughts?? Ideas?? Suggestions?? For that matter how about James Frasers (Buffalo Nickel Designer) autograph as well?
So the answer is: yes. There are known examples of Mr. Schlag's autograph. Actually, Mr. Schlag signed many items, and they come up for auction every so often. Not sure about Mr. Fraser's autograph. Maybe someone else could provide insight on that one.
Awesome... I've been watching for some time on ebay, nothing.. after some extensive online searching I got nowhere... So I'm glad to see there is hope! Thanks Jody, as always you are most helpful!
Anybody got Pictures of James Fraser? Any Autographs? I see this thread kinda died but I'd be interested as I can't remeber ever seeing a picture of Mr. Fraser. -Daniel
dak, If I am no mistaken Mr Schlag is buried in a town not far from me. I will do some research and see if by chance I can find somebody in that little town that has something. I have to find the name again of the town first. : ) I am pretty sure its over by Lansing Mi. someplace.
Found this link. Not sure what price range your looking at? http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=414&Lot_No=752&src=pr
so this is funny, I did another search on google for James Fraser picture instead of my usual James fraser search and what pops up??? A picture of him with a sculpture... Well, I feel stupid!
They're not photos, but great illustrations of some coinage artists that can be purchased. Look here: http://www.cdaughtrey.com/ They're by Charles Daughtrey, a Lincoln cent expert. Guy~
For the young man looking for pictures of James Earl Fraser, I have three links for you. The first two have pictures that can be clicked on to enlarge them. The third link is a pdf file, and you can use the zoom feature to make the picture as big as you want. http://siris-juleyphoto.si.edu/ipac20/ipac.jsp?uri=full=3100001~!1565!0&term=#focus http://www.nationalcowboymuseum.org/research/r_a_fras_imag_1.html http://www.harperdesigninternational.com/spreads/FraserDeCouxALDUS.pdf

Hey Dak, This is not an autograph but I thought would be pretty cool. Would like to have these myself but don't want to spend this kind of money on non-coin items. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=220126573395&rd=1&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=220126579410&rd=1&rd=1
