Wow, that is stunning! I don't know if I agree with the grade, but I am far from a pro. Overall though, she is a BEAUTY! :thumb: Phoenix
That looks like a wonderful coin. I wonder if it is the Eliasberg example? I also wonder how we are affected by knowing the assigned grade? For example, what would be saying about it if the assigned grade were MS67 instead of MS69?
I agree! If we did not know the grade, I am sure that there would be opinions ranging from MS-65 to MS-67 and maybe even lower. I also agree with Phoenix as the coin definitely has some issues if you look close. Could there have been some good old favoritism grading going on when it was submitted???!!! Frank
67, but if it is the Eliasberg pedigree, maybe that could fuuzzzz the brain into a 67.5, 69? No way not a chance.
Well, there's only 1 that PCGS has graded higher than 66. And the Eliasberg catalog that coin would be in is the only one I am still missing Hope to rectify that before long. Personally, that is the nicest example I have ever seen. Does it truly warrant a 69 ? Debatable perhaps, but it's definitley nicer than a 66 What do you think Mark ?
Wow...that is a knockout! The number on the holder shouldn't even matter for this coin. I would love to see the coin in person to see just how clean it actually is. It will probably have a CAC sticker on it soon, if they think it meets the solid for the 69 grade....lol.
