Found this in my change today. I watched the cashier break open a fresh roll of 2023 D's to give me these 4. For some time now, the new dimes that I see have a very reflective/proof like finish. However, this one stood way out from the others. I actually thought it was old till I saw the date and condition. It has a little matte proof action going on. And..... wait for it......no striations...lol. Weight is 2.26g So, unpolished die? Enviromental? Worn out die? Was it acid man? At any rate, if nothing else, it's what a dime is supposed to look like. You're not supposed to be able to start a sun fire with the dang things! There's one guy at the Denver mint that knows this! Filing it away with the rest of my carny side show attractions unless it's worth a number with comma's in it. On another note... Do you know how to catch a unique coin? You neek up on it!!! Complements of my Genius 5-year-old Granddaughter.... you are welcome. Merry Christmas and may God continue to bless us all. I told you this would be fun, that's why I put it in the title! God Bless America too!!!
I am guessing the shinny ones are from a brand new set of dies. The "matte" looking one is probably from dies that have been working for a while. MHO
