I can't decide between the Barber: And the Standing Liberty: The original Washington quarter had a nice reverse as well. I'm also partial to the pre-Barber quarters with the scrawny eagles because they're funny looking and make me laugh.
I actually have an 1853 quarter, which is my oldest quarter and tied for second oldest coin in my collection. Bought it a month or two ago. The rays were one year only, correct? Did the arrows indicate a lighter coin? It's not in great condition but it's still cool looking. Here are some pictures of it along with a Barber I bought on the same day: Is it worth $15?
The best quarter reverse is on the small capped bust. It's got more character than the seated liberty.
I vote for the Standing Liberty reverse without stars. It looks like are real eagle, not like a dead, stuffed, and stretched one.
Yes - I think those are the nicest looking pennies ever minted. I used to collect them when they were going for around 20$ for a VF-XF then the prices went up and I slowed down. Have about 60 pieces so far.
Do quarter eagles count??? lol The famous "Cal." quarter eagle Here's my favorite quarter DOLLAR reverse.
Yes a 1 year type. Definitely worth $15 as there's always a demand for budget oriented type set collectors or yn looking for an a&r quarter
