My favorite design for a coin is the Peace Dollar. I'm not sure exactly why. I just think it is a very beautiful design for a coin...
Modern I would have to go with the Morgan dont realy know why I just like em :thumb: Ancient then it would be any of my celtic lot :kewl: De Orc :kewl:
I'd have to go with the V Nickel. I just imagine all the things it could have bought when it was minted
That's the first time I've heard anyone announce their collection of SBA's as their favorite. I lack the 99 proof, of all coins, to have a complete set. I'm waiting to get a good price on one. I have to say that I have a great love for Weinman's Mercury Dime and Walking Liberty Half. They are truely works of art. The SLQ is a beautiful piece as well, and the Peace Dollar is quite grand. But I must admit that there is something about the Oregon Trail Commemorative, my avatar, that I caughtme the first time I ever saw one. I knew then that was my favorite.
I really enjoy the Peace Dollar design too.... and you guys are gonna gasp and hate me for this, but.... I carry a really old and worn out with me in my pocket wherever I go.... I KNOW! That's a horrible thing to do to a coin, but still! AJM
In my opinion: Peace dollars are nice. Morgans are better. But I have to agree with walterallen on Weinman's designs - beautifull. Especially the walker. -Adam
Walter hit the nail on the head with the Oregon Trail Commemorative. It's absolutely the greatest commem design. For circulating designs, I like both the Walkers and the Standing Libs. But, no doubt about it. The best looking US coin, and my personal favorite, is the St. Gauden's Double Eagle. It's the pride of my collection, and no one who ever sees it fails to be impressed.
Can't pick just one. Favorites include: JFK Half Australian Lunar Coins Britannias ASE's New gold Indian (Just bought a proof!)
I like JFK's, Morgans, and the 2005 Australian Kukaburra as well as Silver Eagles, but nothing gets my attention faster than a tonned morgan
Not at all. I carry a VF 1945 WL half in my pocket all the time. It's a common coin so no harm done. I carried a well worn 1900-O dollar in my pocket for years. It was my dad's. It's in a coin flip in my collection now. I was worried I would loose it and all the memories it has. If the 45 walker gets lost it's no big deal.
Hey Gary! I haven't seen you in awhile!! Anyway---my favorite coin is whatever I'm working on---I try to work on sets one at a time so where I'm working on Proof Franklins right now...along with AU/MS Washington Quarters....I guess I have 2 Favorites! Speedy
I like Morgans (old) and silver American Eagles (new). Two great designs stamped into a big chunk of silver.
