I found this interesting. I have two middle bronzes of Faustina Junior with the FECVND AVGVSTAE reverse, one (a Dupondius, I believe, on the basis of weight) with the usual Fecunditas standing left type, and another (an As, I believe, on the basis of weight) with the reverse type a mirror image of the dupondius, where the goddess is standing right.

Anybody else have examples of coins with mirror-image variants of the reverse type?

    Faustina Junior
    Roman oricalchum Dupondius
    Rome, AD 147-175
    12.45 gm, 27 mm
Obv: FAVSTINA AVGVSTA, bare-headed and draped bust, r.
Rev: FECVND AVGVSTAE SC, (Faustina as) Fecunditas standing l., between two children (thought to represent Faustina III and Lucilla), holding two infants in her arms (thought to represent Commodus and Antoninus).

    As above, but

    Roman AE As
    8.46 gm, 25 mm
Obv: FAVSTINA AVGVSTA, bare-headed and draped bust, r.
Rev: FECVND AVGVSTAE SC, (Faustina as) Fecunditas standing r., between two children, holding two infants in her arms.

    RIC-1636; Sear-5294; BMC-977

The BMC listing for 977 notes, "variant of rev., Fecunditas standing r., Vatican Coll-".

My hand-written notes accompanying the variant coin state "Strack 1337, Fecunditas standing R sestertius in Paris, middle bronzes in Vatican, Munich, Stuttgart, Bologna, Gotha + Basel l, 1934, 1385"

I actually have no idea where I got the information in my hand-written note; if any of you know what reference I'm quoting or what the "l, 1934, 1385" is referring to, I'd be grateful for the info.

VIRTVS with spear and shield is one design that comes to mind, here on two ants of Gallienus. These are not mine - just pics grabbed off vcoins...

We have to ask which means the coin was unofficial and which was just a mistake.
I have seen but do not own the normal reverse of this Caracalla/Domna. Note the E denomination is reversed but the other legends are not.
