Not everyone views him the same way, but I don’t think there’s any denying that Pete Rose, now lost to the World of Baseball, was one of the greats.

I never agreed with your decision to wager on your team, Pete, but man did I love watching you play . . . RIP.

In the last few days we've witnessed a spate of passings. Maggie Smith, Kris Kristofferson, and now, Pete Rose. All of them enriched our lives in many different ways.

Back in 1979 at his first year with the Phillies spring training, my wife and I met him and his children.
He was one of the few players that took time to greet fans.
    RIP Pete.

He made a poor personal choice. I doubt anyone alive hasn't made a poor personal choice in their life at some point. I hope now that he has passed he will be posthumously inducted into the HOF. His career certainly merits the induction.

I always felt he should have been put into the HOF during his lifetime. We all have skeletons in the closet & not just that, much more horrible people continue to have stars on the "Hollywood Walk of Fame", I.E. Bill Cosby.

A decade or so ban would have been fair. But, it doesn't matter anymore, hopefully he will finally be placed into it.
