2 denarii, M.Aurelius, 3.2o gr., A.Pius, 3.oo gr., and Geta or Caracalla provincial, Serdica, 15.8o gr...
Amazing @galba68 - those two don't need much cleaning, outstanding. Wherever you are doing your metal detecting there was a gaggle of Romans dropping their pocket change over the years.
Great finds! Where the provincial coin was found? I'm curious, because I know about some provincial findings in Spain and Portugal, in 4 and 5th century little hoards, maybe used as tokens.
Amazing finds! I’m very curious how long it takes you to find a coin. In other words, is that a days work?
I am so jealous I wish I could be in England right now finding ancient coins....... but I have fun with my Garrett in the us finding barber and mercury dimes.
I wonder how it must have felt to get back home or to the market and find out you're missing $100 or a day's wages in the form of a 3.5 gram silver coin. awesome how many of these you're able to find. you're living the dream.
Amazing finds, galba68! I wish I could go looking again... I used to really enjoy it never knowing what was going to come up next. In the worst of cases one has a nice days exercise. In the best of cases, one can have a day like this, one of my best finds:
in eastern europe..but, Serdica (modern Sofia, Bulgaria) coins you can find evewhere in roman empire..
iamtiberius, I wish it was every day like today, but its not..the main problems are rain, snow and wife ideas of housework..
