I went to a GREAT coin shop today ! It was staffed by two people, an older gentleman in the back corner doing research and a younger fellow fronting the store. They were both very professional and very polite. The younger fellow took himself away from his computer and stood to wait on me at the counter, continuing to do so for nearly 45 minutes. Every time I asked about a specific coin, he would direct me straight to where it was displayed. We spoke about many coins & variations. He even went back to ask the owner (I presume) if they could take less for a 1909-S Lincoln. The owner examined it for bit and stated that they could come down. There was no off-color looks or frowns, just business. I did not buy the 1909-S, I politely declined, and we continued conducting business on other coins. They even humored my girlfriends questions about the cheap bin of foreign coins. The prices were reasonable, but the service will stick in my mind forever. After hearing stories from others here about shops, this was surely above many. They said they had been in the business for 30+ years, it certainly showed. If any of you are near the Bridgeport, OH / Wheeling, WV area, I highly suggest you check out their shop. Here's the info from their card: Coin Hobby (Jim West) 343 Main Street Bridgeport, OH 43912 (740) 633-1000 www.coinhobby.com Class acts ! Rotobeast approved !
If only all coin shops conducted business on the same professional level. I rarely get out that way, but when I do I will try to stop in.
If they spent that much time with Roto then they must be amazing! Sorry (but not really Roto) had to say that as, after all, you hurt my feelings last night.
