I wanna put this up there for everyone to see. So many people are getting scammed from China among individuals in the U.S.

I have been in the coin collecting, buying and selling business for over 30 years now and I'm just scared these days on just buying anything if I don't have my scale and calipers. I bought some lots of wheat and Indian head cents long ago with random coinage in the lots and that I set aside. I decided to look through them and guess what! FAKES! I feel bad for the people that bought these coins, It makes me wonder what they paid for them. If you are good at detecting fakes....

Seems like they've switched from the high end stuff to generally anything now. It's scary indeed. The best we can do is to constantly refresh ourselves with knowledge about the genuine articles to help spot the bad ones. Of course this along side of monitoring and reporting fakes as they materialize. Hopefully word will spread to lookout for them.

In addition to scales calipers, knowing what the real thing looks like is one of the best defenses.

Here goes. The fake is first; the real coin is second.
