I thought that I would give everyone here a heads up. Be careful of your $10 platinum coins. The fakes are making the rounds again. I would suggest weighing them to be sure before purchasing. These 10th ounce coins sell for around $90 in coin shops across America. Many dealers do not take the time to actually look at these coins. There are a few tell tale design flaws to look for, but the easiest way by far is weight.
We have just obtained another shipment of these fakes today. They were sent out of California.
All were dated 2002 and 2003.

Just for this reason I always carry a pocket scale to shows. Weighing coins is one of the best methods of determining authenticity. Comes in handy for buying scrap gold too :)

    Thanks for the heads up.
