I'm sure its been seen by plenty of folks on here, but... My four year old and I spent the afternoon going through a penny box from the bank. He's most happy when he finds Canadian pennies and wheats in a roll, but today he found something I'm surprised made it through a bank sorting/rolling machine... a plastic penny! He loves it. Pics below. Its says "IMPERIAL" where "IGWT" should be, and there's no date. Otherwise a memorial cent. I found the website selling these: http://catalog.teachingsupplystore.com/playmoney.php?gclid=COrs-rOMv5gCFQGbnAodzFwzag They apparently sell for about four cents a plastic coin. Kinda spooky that the US Mint only gets a penny for it, and the fake sells new for four.
It looks really quite food for a plastic coin. I found a plastic 20 pence coin in a car park a few years back...I sits among the rest of my coins in the coin folder as if it was a proper one. I just find it funny having such a thing. My one sure isn't as good as that cent however. Just says '20' one one side and has an image on the other which vaguely resembles a queen. Also welcome
