I'm not an expert, but there are about 23 die varieties of this date half dollar.

Can you tell us the circumstances surrounding your acquisition of this coin?

Other than the fact that it's been cleaned it looks fine to me. But I'm no expert in these. Patience my friend. Others more knowledgeable will happen along....:)

And there's no way to verify any of the 23 (or lack of one of them) with pics that small. Please try to post the biggest pics you can when trying to verify authenticity or it's basically a waste of time. Thanks. Oh yeah, welcome aboard.

welcome to cointalk, that one has been cleaned, as another poster already stated, I will get my overton out and take a look at it and see if I can find the die variety, but if I remember there are not too many 1830s with super rare varieties. Otherwise I would guess it is a vf and because of the cleaning would probably sell for vg money, maybe around 45-60, if it is a rarer variety it might be worth more

so how can i get some info about the dies, weight and overall size of the coin.
i cant seem to find much info in the net about it. :(
and there has been some people interested in the coin willing to pay over 1k. without further testing or proof. that makes me wonder what the real value is.
no one does that if is not worth a lot more.:kewl:

Patience. I sent Jim M a PM regarding this thread. He's a wiz at attributing these coins (I've got an Overton, but it makes me cross eyed). Hopefully he'll weigh in soon.....:)

I suggest you sell that coin for $1000, immediately, before someone wises up.

Looks from what I can see to be the O-112 which is an R4 coin. I would grade this coin VF35.

    Value. About 200 bucks.

    My 2 cents

I agree with Jim but only graded and detailed by Ngc/Pcgs will get you $200.00 IMO:kewl:
