I was at my local swapmart (indoor swap meet). I was walking around looking for coins to buy for cheap, I went up to this Asian lady and saw a Morgan dollar set in it's box and everything with a tag of $950. I called her out and told her it was fake. The coloring was completely horrid. The seal on the coins were broken and I took a sniff. It smelled like iron! She became embarrassed and called security on me! Also, another store had fake silver coins form Mexico! WOW
Call your sheriff. It's illegal to sell the coins as real unless they are clearly marked as copies. (Engraved, stamped, or cast into the design.)
There's always people selling fake stuff at those swap meets. I see them all the time at Denio's in Roseville. I saw some Mexican coins last time I was there that were phonier than a Elvis Presley impersonator. I'd like to find out what happens if the Sheriff is called tho', that should be interesting. Best make sure nobody knows it was you who called in the Po-Po tho'. May find the swap meet mafia after you. j/k
