fake ihc?

    It's not fake. Many souvenirs are made where one side of a coin is cut out and replaced with the same as the side that still remains.

    It sounds like it could be a magician's coin where the obverses (or reverses) of two coins are joined together. Can you see a seam along the edge of the coin?

    Search the threads for "magician's coin" for more info.

    Yes; as previously said, it looks to be a genuine IHC but it is very likely that someone molded two obverses of an Indian Head Cent together creating this "trick" coin. I was actually just tossing a coin like this around in my coin shop last week, though the one I had was two reverses of a Lincoln Wheat Cent molded together. It was pretty entertaining... :goofer:

    this makes sense and i think i can see a seam where they were joined together. man this coin sure fooled me! i searched magicians coin threads but alot of the links weren't working : /
