Tom,that is a neo-Nazi propaganda medal.There were never ever a genuine coin with Hitler's portrait on it.There is an extremely rare Probe (pattern coin) that does depict Hitler's portrait on it,but not his name or title of Fuhrer,however. Aidan.
It is I believe a modern fantasy piece I have seen a few of these floating about on ebay over the past few months in silve r& copper. De Orc :kewl:
Actually there are two different type coins recorded bearing Hitlers effigy. The first is a 100 reichsmark `pattern' dated 1933 in .333 gold. The other is a silver plated copper piece dated 1942, designed and minted by Karl Goetz in Berlin (only 4 pieces known). Both coin types appear in Krause's `Unusual World Coins'.
