    From the auction: "The obverse is missing about 90% of it's clad layer. Just traces of the nickel may still be seen.
    The reverse has even less clad remaining. The merest hint of silver remains on the right side of the coin. "

    First: it looks like an acid bath;
    Second, why buy something from someone who thinks that there is any silver in clad coinage!

    That thing was buried and found with a metal detector. I've seen a lot of clad stuff come out of the ground looking like that.
