Going thru some old Buffs I've had for a while and ran across this one. It has nice details, but was really pitted. Then decided to look as the edge. Is that a casting line? Is this baby a fake? What's you take on this?

Looks like a lot I have seen on eBay lately. Reminds me of Nic-A-Date or Acid dipping to get the date & details back.

That sure looks like a casting line.

It does look like it could be an acid job. The acid treatment of the 18-S that I had posted in the other thread is a little more obvious than the 18-D shown here, but I have a 14-S that looks a lot like the 18-D. Also, the designer's initial is clear on the 18-D, but is usually missing on the cast copies that I have seen.
