Doesn't look anything like AU to me. Maybe fine, or strectching it to a VF.

I just sent the seller a question. Let's see if he responds.

I like the letter play. NCG.....NGC, how many newbs are going to fall for that.
That coin has a nice polish job too. The pics in the slab really show it. lets see, AU.... always unreallistic grading.:)

Looks like a good coin but over graded.

Without weight etc and seeing it in hand to be sure - right off the top of my head I'd say the coin is a fake.

I'd agree, though the pics are bad. It looks like the obverse denticles from 10:00 to 2:00 are dots almost connected on the rim side, which might mean it was cast. Hard to tell with the pics provided though.

I see that now. I didn't have time earlier to give this the proper time and now I also see what looks like a "bump" at 10 o'clock on the reverse, to the left of the eagle. Plus, the residual dark coloring, after being poorly cleaned, could be the old trick of giving a fake coin a burnt look/surface to hide the poor quality of the counterfeit coin.

I am now in the middle of the road on this one, so that says DON'T BUY!

I got a response from my question:

"i will pull this coin and have it looked at by someone that knows more than i do. i am not a professional."

3 hours later and it still hasn't been pulled. Should this be reported?

Without the coin in hand its hard to tell. I certainly would not put out that kind of cash with the gut feeling I have on it though.

Most I'd pay for that ugly dog is $50. Cleaned/polished to death, but genuine IMO.

Man, look at that coin, wonder why it didn't get the DMPL designation? I mean, look how shiny it is. :D

Look at all of the raised bumps and how rough & uneven the surface of the fields are on the coin. That is most often a sure sign of a fake coin.

I think that has to be the fourth or fifth "company" I've seen using the NCG initials. First one with a majore misspelling of the name though.

I con't tell if it is real or not but I wouldn't touch it. If you wanted you could probably get all of his auctions pulled for a eBay rule violation. He has a link to a non-eBay website posted in his auction.
