Facebook is another venue to look for coins.
I joined all of the local yard sellers and garage sellers pages in my area.
Here are a couple of purchases I made.

That's a pretty nice Funf Mark there - what's the other side look like?

    Looks a lil rough.

Do you know the value of it?

    According to Krause:

    1914 A Funf (5) Marks (Prussia)
    KM 536
    90% Silver (.8037 ASW)
    Mintage: 1,587,179

    Values
    F - $16
    VF - $25
    XF - $35
    UNC - $150

I'd say yours would probably go on eBay for $30-$45 (based on the ones I've sold.) Nice pickup!

    Hi luke,
Great finds there. I also really like the 5 Mark. Thanks for the tip on the yardsellers.

Also, Krause World Coins is a good place to start for world coin values and information.

I quite enjoy the Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins, but I have them as PDF files so I can put them on my computer/smartphone. Prices aren't really all that accurate...but then the important part is knowing what you have first. You never know what certain coins are going to bring (if you plan to sell them.)

This is what they look like.
I don't think the US Mint ever produced these.

    Ah, its a Dirham
I tend to stay away from coins with barely any English (my worst subjects at school are languages... :rollling:) on them or coins that don`t use letters from the alphabet like the one you have.
    Thanks!! ;)
