Spotted this beautiful set at CSNS last week. I've seen the $50 gold coins at shows before and seen this set assembled in person, but what I found fascinating were the accompanying letters and envelopes.

If you're unable to zoom in on the image, the letters say:

    Set graded (L to R) MS64, MS65, MS66, MS64, MS65

Right?! My first instinct was "this has to be a reproduction" based on how crisp those letters/envelopes look. But according to NGC, those are the real deal :)

Amazing set, and also amazing that it hasn't been split up for 110 years. It's a little funny that the coins are not arranged to match the letters in the display. I would be anal retentive about that.

HA! I had same thought... least you could do is arrange them in order and make sure coin slabs are oriented straight :p

Amazing set. The letters, the high grade, the totality ... is stunning.

One of these days, I gotta git me one of them fifties ... will never happen.

If you owned a set like that you could display it any way you felt like!
