I have an extra fifty bucks for coin/s, where should I spend it? What would you buy? I collect peace dollars and doing a us type set. I have a full set of franklins and partial set of lincolns from when I was a kid.

Why don't you go with the Lincoln cents. You have a partial set and now would be the time to add to that set. The 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent is coming up in 2009 and the prices should be going up. So now is the time to get the ones you need for your set.

you've got a point there LSM. Any rumor what the mint might do in 2009?

Personally, I would grab another Peace Dollar in the highest grade your $50 could buy.

Something modern like a 2007 USMint Silver Set and a 2007 Mint Uncirculated Set. They have all the inaugural coins for the Presidential Dollar as well as some great State Quarters and the Sac $. Perhaps even the USMint Dollar Set for 2007.

IMO, get one $50 coin rather than five $10 or ten $5 coins.

I would consider adding a key date Lincoln to your partial set. You might be able to locate a 1909-S or a 1931-S in Good+ condition for around $50. You will have to hunt around a bit though as Lincolns are getting more expensive by the day. Searching for a good deal is the key and the most fun of the whole process. What ever you decide to buy try to get a "good deal" because then you'll feel better about the purchase all around. Some of my favorite and most memorable purchases were of coins that I felt I got a great deal on even though I wasn't actually looking for those particular coins at the time.
