I am a beginner at collecting the 2-cent piece, but would you call this one excellent??

I think the seller's description that there is "some corrosion" is a bit of an understatement. LOL

 

I would keep looking, that coin is pretty corroded.

S/H exceeds the value by a significant margin IMHO.

 

They put it on a gravel driveway and drove over it a couple of times, then put it on a fence post and shot it with a shotgun...?

If that's excellent I would REALLY love to see what the consider "average".
If that's excellent I guess all of my VG coins are really MS60 (just might be in an SGS holder).

I'd stay away from that seller just for insulting the general population's intelligence.

I see where the seller is from.. Most likely a metal detector find. They spend alot of time down there detecting for Civil War relics.

 

Jim,the U.S. Civil War ended in April 1865.This coin could have been struck after that month.

This guy is a perfect example of my gripe with eBay's feedback system. Most people look at the rating and don't read the comments. A Clown like this birthdaybuddy guy rips you off, you leave a negative feedback, and then birthdaybuddy retaliates and leaves one for you that you do not deserve.

 

And leaves a neg even if you give a nuetral.:desk:
