Ever notice how many Roman Emperors used the title “Germanicus”?

    It’s crazy! o_O

Apparently almost every Emperor wanted to be the “Conqueror of the Germans”.

I never noticed until I was looking at a collection online where someone showed off many denarii & sestercii.

In my opinion the title should’ve gone only to Germanicus (father of Caligula & brother of Claudius) himself.

But it’s kind of hilarious xD

"Germanicus" is a title for all the emperors who won wars in Germania. Along with descendents of Nero Claudius Drusus.

"Dacicus" was used by emperors winning wars in Dacia - Trajan and Constantine the Great.

If you think about it, not all emperors are related to Caesar or Augustus, but they used these titles.

    That’s a fair point.

I just think it’s kind of funny how many Emperors wanted the people to view them as conquerors of the Germans xD
