Picked this up tonight. Looks like an interesting holder. It will be interesting taking a good look at the coin when it comes in, to see how accurate the grade is. I see decent luster, so they might be pretty close.
I bought two morgans for $30 each graded by that company, their grades seemed accurate. I belive one was a MS64 and the other was MS62DMPL
Yeah, their trademarks were declared "Abandoned" in 2002 due to lack of response with the registration agency.
They began in 1987, the slab shells were licensed from Accugrade. As of April 2001 they were the last firm that still had a licensing agreement with Accugrade but I doubt they produced many if any slabs after the early 90's.
Any knowledge on how accurate they graded? I like collecting $2 1/2 coins, and am starting to get a decent collection of them in various slabs.
Sorry I pay attention to the slabs, not the coins in them. i don't buy slabbed coins so I don't normally pay any attention to the grading ability of the companies.
That's quite an intriguing slab. Looks like it could be MS 60 I'm seeing some good luster on it. Great find @jwitten
This is quite the score as a package. The additional appeal of an "original" serious grading effort is niche, but it'll attract people willing to go over market for it. As will those who see how undergraded it is at MS60.
If you give it second thoughts - this was quite innovative at its time and would have given counterfeiters a big grief. Think about this - they have to go through the trouble of counterfeiting (which is their profession), taking photos (not too sure how good their skills are) but if this photo is also stored in a secure site and can be viewed any time, they may have to hire professional hackers to replace that as well.
