I recently purchased a few coins from a private collector and this one was in them. The 2X2 was marked HIGH WIRE RIM RARE. Has anyone heard of this. The rims do appear to be a little higher than normal. Hard to tell inthe pics though. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

To the best of my knowledge there is no such thing as high wire rim - or even a wire rim Morgan.

There may be however some examples with finning. But finning is by no means an intentional act by the mint - it is an accidental occurence due to coin being struck with higher than normal pressure. There are likely other examples struck slightly off center that would result in the rim being very thin on one side or the other.

But in no case could either of these be considered as a wire rim.

I don't know anything about it, but I have a few 21-P Morgans with the same high rim... some higher than others.
