European Sovereigns are recognized as one of the most advantageous ways to invest in gold. With their Historic appeal and majestic designs I think they are amazing and completely addicting There are so many countries to choose from and so many designs, it's hard not to love them. Here are some European Sovereigns from my collection. I recently starting collecting them and like buying certified coins raw so, I can handle them and admire their beauty. Please post some of your Sovereigns and thanks for stopping by. Cheers! Eric the Red
The design dates to 1923 and the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic or RSFSR. When the USSR minted gold coins for sale to western collectors through Mezhnumizmatika they restruck these coins with new dates but kept the RSFSR design on the reverse with the legend "Workers of the world, Unite!" Curiously the archaic Cyrillic legend soon became associated with the Tsarist era and fell of favour in the USSR.

Belgium was a member nation in the Latin Monetary Union along with France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Romania et al.
