Eureka Coin ?????????

    Any Ideas as to what this coin or medal is or any info about it would be greatly appreciated. It is one of my fathers items. He purchased it several years ago. It is a little larger than a US quarter.:confused:

    And the animal on the other side is a grizzly bear, the state animal of California and a symbol on the state flag.

    It is interesting to note that the Californian state flag still says 'REPUBLIC OF CALIFORNIA' on it.This is a reference to the short-lived republic that was declared after California's cession from Mexico.
