    12k is an odd karat.
    Most are 12k gf gold filled.
    Did you verify?

    I've read 12k is most commonly from Europe. They're usually frowned on if ever sold as scrap just being an oddity in the US. For $2 though you can't go wrong.

    I'd be a buyer at $2 even if it did stick to a magnet, I think.

    Makes sense as I've seen several British and European coins enameled in this fashion. Some are done exceptionally well.
