I have in my possesion a coin I believe to be an gold escudo. It is dated 1770. I don't know the denomination, but it is larger than a one escudo, maybe a two; I'm not sure. The bust is that of Ferdinand VI who was long dead before 1770, but the name displayed to the left of the bust is, Carlos III. It was minted in Colombia. I'm going to attach a photo if I can, but it is out of focus because I don't have the camera to produce a clear picture of it.
Can anyone tell me where on the internet I could go to get the info on this coin? Are does anyone have any idea what this coin is? I have run out of ideas.

    Thanks HPIM0916.jpg
