I collect Russian Imperial coins, and also always looking for errors of Russian coins. Here 1865 5 kop Mirror Brockage 1749 Denga Clip ( Straight , end of the leave) 1731 Polushka Double struck 1742 1/2 kop in silver Mirror Brockage. If anybody has some Russian errors, please share with us.
I love your errors irina, especially the brockages. I think they're the most interesting type of error there is. Sorry I don't have any to post, but thanks for showing yours. Bruce
?, You don't see the double crown above the 2, and the doubled wreath around it?. I am guessing that is the coins Reverse.
So how common are errors of this period? I ask because for some issues errors are the norm, like Byzantine, and non-errors are the highly sought issues, while modern coins have great rarity to errors. I bought 50 5 kopecks from Catherine the Great 10 years ago, and it seemed offcenter strikes were very common on those.
did I understand you right, you got 50 coins with 5 kop nominal ? Congrats to you!!! Good investment! about errors, yes for this period of time and for copper coins , it's very common , off center, double, triple strike, clip same for polushka, denga ,but I did not see any errors for the same time, but for silver, I think they are rare. For coins 1840 , common errors for 1/4;1/2 kop with silver, Russia had this pattern, errors Mirror brokage, and for 1856 , 5 kop have some errors. After all, I may say, rare errors if they are exist , will be any silver before 1917.
