Found a few coins recently that appear to have some strange issues. Not sure if these are errors, die damage or PMD. Would anyone care to comment? 1967 Dime--Likely PMD Semi-circular area of damage going through the date and leftmost parts of the "In God We Trust" motto. 1970 Dime Note the flattened 0 in the date and also squished or missing letters in the "In God We Trust". 1985 Dime Note the oddly formed (or deformed) rim on the bottom. 2003 Dime Two different lighting angles to show how the 3 in the date is mis-formed. The bottom loop is mostly missing! I'll post two quarters in a reply. Rob
1990 Quarter #1--Weak strike? Mainly of note is that the rim appears to be oddly formed/shaped, which I've read can be caused by a weak strike or worn dies. 1990 Quarter #2--damaged die or PMD? Yes, there is a lot of PMD on this quarter, but some of the "damage" looks like it might have been from a damaged or worn die before it had a chance to become damaged in circulation. I also have a 1955 quarter that looks like it is displaying a die crack on the obverse in George's hair. Runs from about his forehead across and out the back of his head. My pics keep failing to show it, though, so I'll have to keep trying to image it. Any and all comments and discussion are welcomed! Rob
Wow you want to knock em all out at once I am sure no expert, but i can try some honest opinion for some: 1. 67 I think PMD 2.70 I think the same, but I see a rim issue 3.85 could be a striking error or PMD again 4.03 can be a grease strike, like my Avatar 5. 90 the first one, not seeing anything-maybe a different photo 6.90 the second, looks misaligned with a lot of PMD heheee I tried
I have found a 1985 Pennsylvania mint with no t in trust how do you find out if there is more or if it's worth anything
