Evening. I could use a little help with this 1995 Lincoln penny. Not a pro. I know a little and have a small collection. Going through my Christmas change I found this penny which seems to have extra metal on it. It looks like it's snowing. It is part of the coin and not something that's splashed on it in circulation or groves that have lifted the metal. Each little dot of metal is about the same size as the points each side of "UNUM". What''s even more curious it is on both sides of the coin all over the coin, on Lincoln face and around , also within the pillars of the monument. I'm assuming it is some sort of splash somehow. If someone might be able to help me with its rarity it would be greatly appreciated. Really anything would be great. Thanks ahead of time.
I'm not an expert, but plating bubbles perhaps? Nor rare at all. More knowledgeable members will be along shortly, I'm sure of it.
If a Cent with plating bubbles is left exposed to the elements then the bubbles will erupt and tiny Zinc Rot holes will appear. Seen it plenty of times with metal detected Cents. Environmental Damage. Not an error.
