Hey. I got this at the bank on my last day. Another teller had these bills someone turned them in and I'm not sure if she gave some away before me or the person spent them or what but I have a huge block of these 2's with a couple missing here and there. Anyways I have notes H38094521A-H38094532A ; 4546-4550 ; 4553-4600. This is the error Now...none of the other notes that I have, have this error. They all have something different to them, though. some seem to be cut wrong, others the seal is a little left or right, but nothing this extreme. Would selling all the notes together (every single note minus one or 2 exceptions is gem uncirc from what I can tell) be more beneficial, or would these notes separately bring that much of a premium? I see in a book I have gem cu is 30 ea. but I'm not sure about the error. I planned on keeping the error and possibly putting the others on ebay or just keeping them (not sure yet). So I was just wondering if I did decide to sell if I should not or should keep them together. Thanks! PS: I also got another 200 or so dollars of these bills from saint louis and fifty or so from chicago, all gem unc for the most part (except 1/2 of the chicago are XF or there abouts) -Joe
A little bit of shifting in alignment of the seals and SNs is common and within BEP quality control tolerances on notes that the deviation is not noteworthy as an error note. however, the note pictured is significant enough of a misalignment to be called an error note. I recommend that you keep these two notes together. You will often see consecutive notes selling together that 'book end' an error such as this. These notes go well together and may resell a bit more as a pair. It's just too bad you don't have the note ending in 526 to fully create the 'book end' trifecta. Nice score!
thanks I do actually! The teller had them all in straps and all the numbers were strewn about. It took me 45 min to get every SN in consecutive order (or very close). I have notes H38094521A-H38094532A ; 4546-4550 ; 4553-4600.
Excellent! While this is another denomination, this is what I mean about errors that are bookended (Heritage lot #31162) and this past one on eBay, item#270671310425
avengerc4, you're looking at a minor misaligned overprint. I say minor in respect to other misalignments, but I believe it is a significant misalignment. In the grade you have, looking like EF-CU, I would put value on just the misaligned note between $45-$70! Great find!
sweet thanks! Gotta love making friends haha That is one thing I WILL miss about the bank. Not being able to find awesome bills EVERY DAY! But now I'm getting better pay and I won't be buying money every day so maybe I'll have even more money!! haha. I'm still making them all look out for me though
That's great. My sister did that for me while she was at the bank. She got some nice errors, stars, silver certs, you name it. I was pretty jealous for a bit until I convinced her to sell me some of her rougher notes that I didn't have. She kept all of the errors.
