What is the best way to find a error penny or a double die penny? What has worked out for you guys? Do you guys look at each one with a magnifying glass or can you tell if it's a double die just with the naked eye?
that is a silly question as per say there is no one way to go get a double die or ddouble die reverse except for searching or buying it..
I have searched 3 boxes of lincolns from the bank and came up with a lot of die varieties and verities but only 2-3 double dies
No, spotting silver is a lot easier. The thing on searching cents is we know the dates to look at with the magnifying glass. I suppose we could give you a run-down on that if you'd like to give it a try. Some errors and varieties definitely aren't very apparent to the naked eye. I'll just start you off on a few of those. The 1972 obverse, the 1983 reverse, and the 1995 and 1995-D obverse, all have doubles, and we usually always check those.
I'd add "research, research, research" to that. (to mfboss) Find as much info as you can about them, then start searching. It helps to know what you're looking for.
Thank you guys for the info I picked up another box of pennies today I will research before I even open the box the box I had last night I just looked for wheat pennies
