Error penny date 960

    I just found this penny today and it has a date error it is missing the number 1 and only has 960 as the date it I’d a D mint mark.

    It’s an interesting, yet common occurrence. There was a post earlier with a cent that read, “In God We Rust”.... Same deal. Won’t add to your retirement funds. You may find enough interest to buy a good cup of coffee though.

    LOL well thanks I’m new here , I have been collecting wheat backs and always look at my change I have some good coins And I thought this was going to be the best.

    The Die had grease on it in that area. It's common and considered a Mint error of value.

    If you had used our "Search" function near the top-right of the page, you would find about 200 posts regarding "grease-filled die". If you used Google to look it up, you would find page after page after page about it.

    What's it worth is more for gold and rare coins IMHO

    Most minor errors such as the one you found really don't have any premium.
