Error or wear? 1972 S Lincoln Cent: jacket gap

    Hey there, I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with this. I have a 1972 s Lincoln penny, and it looks like there is a small gap where the bottom off Abe's shirt should be (I've circled it in the attached photo). Any idea if this is an error or just General wear? IMAG0043_1.jpg

    It looks like it might be the result of die polishing.
