Error or Damage?

Hey guys, I hope that everyone is having a great morning. I've never bothered asking anything about coins like this because I always assumed that they are just damaged (Probably by a rolling machine or something of that nature), but I don't know for sure. I don't think that I ever ran across anything like this on error-ref.com (GREAT website by the way if you haven't heard of it, very very helpful). Any ideas what's going on with this penny?

Hi Sparrow, this is a Mint error but it's common. The name escapes me at the moment. Very common on Zinc cents. Yours is a very strong example but there is no added value.

I believe this look comes from a worn die.

The explanations are correct, but it is not a mint error.
