i recently got a 2011 silver proof set as i looked at the coins i saw a scratch on the mint proof presidential dollar i was wondering if this was considered a mint error because it did not happen outside the mint and if it isn't what should i do :stormy::hatch::desk::bangg:
have to show a picture..if it is justa scratch then no its not an error. Depending on where you got it, i.e. the mint I would send it back.
It's only a mint error if it occurred when the coin was being struck. Probably should be called a strike error instead of mint error.
