    Hi,

I found this going through my change, does anyone know if this is some sort of mint error or was this done after mint? Thanks

This was trapped between the fixed and the rotating washer drum. These are routinely made in my machine as I do a majority of the laundry...and I can miss a pocket or two with change in it. I've made cents, nickels, and quarters to match. But dimes are apparently my favorite.

Let me welcome you to CoinTalk @Matt Walters. The fact that you just joined this wonderful forum tells me you are observant and interested in anomalies you find. Are you a coin collector, or merely inquiring about the strange coin you found? We get quite a few of those, or those just looking to get rich because they found a strange coin. Nothing wrong with wanting to find an answer.
If you are a coin collector, you are welcome to post such items and you will receive many responses, some from experts in the field.
Learning the minting process helps when determining mint error from damage, plus it is fun and educational to watch some of the US Mint videos.
Once you have a good understanding of how coins are minted, it will open up a whole new world of collecting for you.
Good luck and keep your eyes open.
