error coin

I was wondering if any one has heard of, or seen a California Quarter error. I recently got two california quarters in change and one was in really good shape and the other had letters missing and was a really weak strike. Can anyone help me with this thanks in advance

If you can post photos we can help more...but I'm almost betting its what is called a grease filled die error....not really worth much...maybe $1 but it is a cool coin!
