Any feedback would be very helpful as I am new to coin collecting; except for researching pennies which is what I was doing when I saw this dime. On the reverse, there is a flame missing on the left and the band underneath is incomplete. There is damage on the right side of the band but you can see that the left side is incomplete. When looking thru a magnifier it looks as tho the band "folded" in the center and slid downward. It looks like a full band at the bottom but very worn. Thanks for your help.
The top left of the flame looks like it might have been caused by a grease-filled die. I can't be sure about the top of the torch. It is too overexposed for me to tell. Chris
Thanks. Looks like this is a good place to be. Got 2 quick replies and they were both the same. Have a lot of other coins I've had questions on but made notes on them n stuffed them into a drawer, guess I'll be getting them out and asking more questions!
Nothing is impossibe. Question is.. Is it a Mint Error or PMD - Post Mint Damage Create your own unique thread under the Error Coins section of CoinTalk with pictures. Explain what you mean by missing band.. Because I don't understand what that is.
First, welcome to the neighborhood, Ray! "bottom band" ~ Are you referring to the horizontal band that holds the fasces of the torch together? Like paddy suggested, it is best for you to start your own thread and post images there. Chris
