    Good afternoon all
I’m currently running through some coins but thought I would take a break to eat some dinner and post some pics hoping for answers on what these could be? mom guessing just age and environment damage but the nickel really feels odd overall when in hand. Will post better pictures of needed at some point tomorrow. Many thanks in advance

Mom is right. Always listen to mom. LOL
Just ED, or environmental damage from exposure to the elements (air, wind, fire, dirt). @paddyman98 has posted numerous coins that look just like your nickel, all from being in the ground and having the surface react to the elements of the dirt.

Also Darren, can you post your photos for this forum using the format provided and click on "FULL IMAGE" after the upload, to make it easier for us to enlarge your pictures. If not, at least crop the pictures to show just the coins. Thanks.

I thought that might of been the case, I’ve found a few coins metal detecting me they are usually like this but I’ve never thought of throwing them in a coin roll before now lol. Yes I will do my best with that the next time I post, got my new digi scope so once that’s set up this weekend my pics should be spot on. Thanks for the reply

Nickels are made of Cupro-Nickel. They will also darken due to environmental exposure.

Thanks for the reply, the first dime is a 1960 so at least once I give it a clean it will be nice and silver again lol. The others are getting rolled back up
