Hello, Not sure if im in the correct forum for this... but here goes.. this is a flea market pickup,,, does anyone have any.helpful info regarding this token?? Is this the real deal? I transfered all the.info from the old 2x2 onto the new one.. i tried google.......nothing....i cant find a match anywhere... anybody have a clue?? ...is.there any value.at all here?
U said it there brotha... i had no clue but it looked legit and looked very old like.the old love tokens... other than.that... idk...and idk what the markings really are either but it would b a cool key chain or pocket piece was how i.seen it
Ok so we have established that its an identification tag... i assume you have seen one b4??? have you seen them done in this same manner/font/design?? is this a good one?? I seen one like yours on ebay but ive yet to come across one like mine from my limited research
It does seem to be an IOOF identification badge of some kind. The IOOF lodge in Pt Pleasant W VA is still in operation. I think the 1831 is when the lodge was founded (The IOOF began in this country in 1819) because the lodge in Pt Pleasant is Lodge #33. Whether that # refers to the order in which the IOOF lodges were established or whether it means it was the 33rd lodge in the state of WVA I don't know. I would suggest contacking the lodge and seeing if they have any information on member Lew Barnett or not. Just google IOOF Pt Pleasant WV and you can get their contact information.
THaNX a million conder..... i will try a new search w the info u have provided.. and hope to find a little more out about this piece with some luck hopefully this time... i also read they had 5 digit id cards in the day so they could telegraph the # and find out who.said person was if found dead... i learned a bit.from this organization already
